🏆️What is "Asics META:Time:Trials"?
To begin with, we need to know about the event; what is "Asics META:Time:Trials"?
Yes, it is a running event held by ASICS, a Japanese corporation for sportswear. Of course, me and my husband has been familiar with ASICS products since we were very young in Japan.
According to the website, the global edition of the "Asics META:Time:Trials" has started in 2022, and was held in Spain, Thailand, and Malaysia in past. It is gonna be the third year of the event, in 2024.
Anyway, it is a 10km road race to beat his/her Personal Best (PB).
💰️Perticipation Fee
■10km: 800 THB
We had applied in the middle of June, 3 months before the race date.
💬FYI
The price range was like...
-From May 14th to 16th: 600 THB
-From May 17th to June 9th: 700 THB (Early Bird)
-After June 7th: 800 THB*
*I found the fee was 700 THB at the beggining of September on the application website, so it might change in some cases.
🏃Flow of the race
First off, as for a marathon/running event in Thailand, we normally have to visit a race-kit collection, and go get BIB and souvenir items until the day before the race date. If you are busy to go pick up, they can be sent by mail in most cases in advance. In our case, we try to go visit a race-kit collection as much as possible since we love to feel the exciting atmosphere there!
📅The previous day: September 21st (Sat)
A race-kit collection was held at ...Emsphere! It's one of the huge shopping malls located pretty near to BTS Phrom Phong Station.
We headed to "Sphere Gallery 2" at the 2nd floor...↓
Here we are!
Oh my godness... It totally looks more like an ASICS store than a race-kit collection! lol
There was a booth where you can try on some ASICS shoes.
There was also a beautiful display of ASICS shoes.
Finally found a line to check-in and recieve our race-kit: BIB and a souvenir T-shirt, etc. ↓
Omg... ASICS...
ISN'T IT TOO COOL ...✨?
We also recieved a tote bag which is made of strong fabric. So, it can be used as a eco bag for grocery shopping.
FYI, there was an event booth to decorate this tote bag with some ASICS patches on your own! We didn't try it out, but seemed fun!
After that, we did a final check to make sure the 10km course↓
Then, we left the event place and got ready for tomorrow.
📅The race day: September 22nd (Sun)
Woke up around 3:00am.
↓
Easy breakfast.
↓
Around 4:30am, arrived at " the National Studium", the place we start from.
BUT, a good thing was that the temperature seemed under 30℃. (According to my smartwatch, it was 27℃.)
That aside, since it's presented by ASICS, most of participants were wearing ASICS producs!(Of course there were participants not wearing ASICS producs, like my husband! No worries!) We had been realized how popular ASICS is in Thailand, not only in Japan.
Anyway, we went through the welcome gate, and moved into the studium....↓
Wow... It's our first time to come inside! This beautiful green soccer-field made us feel more excited!
Pacer's shoes were all like this ↑ from ASICS for sure...! ... Super cool😂✨
The time to start was coming, so we went to go make a line. I was sorted by C-wave , so...↓
It was a looong way to...
the starting point! lol
BUT, also...
there was such a long line continued behind me😅😅😅
By the way, during waiting for the start, I saw...↓
SWEEPERS near my line!?!!
I was a bit panicking right before the starting time. lol
👀Atmosphere of the race
Runners start in waves baced on pace (Wave Start). Me at C-wave started at 5:10am.
Before dawn with a light rain. There were lots puddles, so it seemed to be easy to slip during running. To be very careful where we step was a big reminder right after started.
The course shaped like a trapezoid was actually very easy to remember and stay focus on running at my own pace.
BUT...
Well, a road was almost getting wet, so needed to watch my each step.
It was humid and hot untill the 3km point. But it had became a bit cooler since the rain had stopped and thanks to a bit wind.
At the 5km point, some nutritional jelly was provided.
Around the 7-8km point, there were several group of young people (or students?) who were cheering on runners! They gave me an energy a lot! Thanks😂🙏!!
As always, photographers were taking nice pictures of our running, which can be bought later!
Anyway, I had finished the 10km race in about 1 hour 10 minutes. I actually had broken my PB, which I didn't expect!😍
🏅After goaled
Here is a finisher medal of this event↓
I do love this design and color combination😍
There was a booth where you can engrave your record on your medal (Paid service). That seemed fun a lot, but we didn't try because of such a long line to make it😅
There was also a booth for massaging.
Me, after the race, yes... HUNGRY...! So...↓
Enjoyed free meals😋 All tastes good! Thank you~😘🙏
Then, we went back home, and got extra sleep....😪😪lol
✅Wrap-up!
How did you like this 10km running event, "Asics META:Time:Trials Thailand 2024"😀?
I do feel that this event is not only for PB, but also for making your own original memory/experience throughout before/after the race by following 3 reasons:
1. You can make your original tote bag by decorating with some ASICS patches at the race-kit collection.
2. During the race, you can challenge your Personal Best, which is also your original record.
Since the course was shaped like a trapezoid, you could stay focus on your pace. And, the atmosphere at the start/goal point, at the National Studium, motivated you to break your PB! (The sole downside of breaking PB was that you had to watch your steps since the road was wet and easy to slip because of the rain.)
3. After the race, you can engrave your record on your finisher medal, which can make your medal original.
We both had a great time there! If you get the chance, try to join this running event!

P.S.
Since I have been a bit sick lately, I can not post articles frequently both in Japanese and English...😥 BUT, I am going to post 2 more articles (about half-marathons held in Bangkok in 2024) soon! Stay tune!😉
